Project Healthy Living
Advanced Screening has been a proud participant in Project Healthy Living for the past four years. Our work with Project Healthy Living and the main organization behind it The United Health Organization has been tremendously popular and rewarding for our agency. UHO has been a United Way United Foundation Agency since 1967. 1968 marked the first year UHO conducted the Health-O-Rama community health-screening program. Project Health-O-Rama is now Project Healthy Living. Thousands of our Vascular and Cardiovascular Screens were performed in less than 50 days last year with between 5 to 8 % incidence of asymptomatic Vascular or Cardiovascular Disease at some stage of progression (Individuals with no signs of Disease). Daunting numbers which underline the prevalence of undiagnosed Vascular and Cardiovascular Disease in the U.S.
Project Healthy Living is a massive community effort and provides neighbors in many parts of Southeastern Michigan along with parts of the Thumb FREE and low cost heath screening services that cover a wide variety of topics. Their program is possible only because of the continued dedication and commitment of from nearly 5,000 volunteers and 50 local health and human resource agencies.
Project Healthy Living 2004 is sponsored by WXYZ-TV, Channel 7 in Detroit and the United Health Organization, a United Way Community Services Agency, Comcast Cable and Panera Bread.
